Pasta Georgio

National Pasta Month Celebrated at Carrabba’s

TAMPA, Fla., September 20, 2018 – October is National Pasta Month and Carrabba’s Italian Grill in Columbus is supporting the fight against cancer with Pasta Georgio – a new addition to the popular restaurant’s menu of fresh and handmade dishes inspired by the many tastes of Italy. $1 from every order of Pasta Georgio at participating Carrabba’s Italian Grill locations will be donated to cancer research through December 31.
Pasta Georgio features penne pasta with sautéed bell peppers and Romano, tossed in roasted red pepper sauce, then topped and baked with meatballs and mozzarella. The new dish is named in memory of George Minutaglio, the restaurant’s Vice President of Operations who passed away earlier this year from pancreatic cancer.
“It has long been a tradition of Carrabba’s to name dishes after beloved friends, family members or places, and we’re honored and humbled to carry this tradition on today with the launch of Pasta Georgio.” said Mike Kappitt, President of Carrabba’s Italian Grill. “George was an inspiration to many, and we created this new dish not only to recognize him but to also honor all families that are affected by cancer.”
Carrabba’s Italian Grill is widely known for its community support and will be atop sponsor of the annual Miles for Moffitt event in Tampa, Florida on December 8, 2018.
“We are grateful to the team at Carrabba’s Italian Grill for supporting our research to find a cure for cancer by honoring their friend and colleague in such a special way,” said B. Lee Green, PhD, President of the Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation. “Our thanks to all the restaurant guests who are helping us advance one step further in fighting this disease, every time they enjoy an order
of Pasta Georgio.”
