Robocalls are annoying as hell! We all get them. But have you done anything to stop them?
Don’t take it another day. Don’t let those annoying calls pester you anymore.
The federal government has an agency to help you with robocalls and a whole lot more. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is responsible for enforcing the laws of trade and commerce in the U.S.
So how will they help you? You file a complaint with the FTC. Make sure you have all the information handy when you go to file the complain.
When you get robocalls, write down as much information as you can get about the call:
- Phone number that shows on your phone
- Company name
- Person’s name you speak with
- Any other phone number they give for calling back
- Date and time of the call
- Frequency of the calls
When filing a complain, give as much information as possible on the complaint form. When you are finished, write down the complaint number that is issued. By having this number, you’ll be able to follow up on the complaint much easier when you go back to the FTC.
The complaint system works. Read about the FTC charging one illegal telemarketer with crimes, fining them millions of dollars, and barred them from future telemarketing activities.
