Washington, DC, April 19, 2018 – The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) are collaborating to help Americans get relief from Robocalls.
The federal agencies will host a forum and expo, Stop Illegal Robocalls Expo, to showcase technologies to reduce or eliminate the unwanted robocalls. Robocalls are those calls you get that show up on your screen as “Restricted” or “Unknown Number”.
The Expo will feature technologies, devices and applications to minimize or eliminate the number of illegal robocalls consumers receive. The Expo is free for the public to attend. It will provide a platform for showcasing innovative technologies, devices and applications that will improve consumers’ daily lives by combatting illegal robocalls.
The Stop Illegal Robocalls Expo is being held Mon., April 23 in Washington, DC and is free and open to the public. I’m sure you probably won’t be able to go but I feel that it is important to keep you informed of work that is being done by the government to stop these harrassing phone calls.
FCC Chief of Staff Matthew Berry and FTC Chief of Staff Svetlana Gans will give brief remarks at the Expo.
